If you know anything about me, you know that I have a very deep love of Harry Potter and the Beatles. So when I met Bridget and Jake, it was as if fate said “Hey, here’s the perfect couple for you, I’m putting them right in your lap. Have fun!” When Bridget and Jake; a Beatlebrain, Harry Potter-loving couple, told me they were planning a 1920’s, Fantastic Beasts themed wedding, I was completely ecstatic! I couldn’t wait to see how they would bring this theme to life!Back in April, Bridget and Jake invited myself and Connor from Hoop House Creative (videography) up to Milwaukee for a day to shoot their engagement session. They were the perfect hosts! They showed us all around the city and took us out for a great dinner! I loved getting to know them on a more personal level!

Their wedding day was nothing short of amazing! From the maids 20’s inspired dresses, to the Niffler shaped (and butterbeer flavored!) cookies, to the little Pickett the Bowtruckles on each table at the reception, everything was just perfect! And to top it off, the reception was held at the Peoria Riverfront Museum where the current exhibit was Mythical Beasts! So perfect! Not to mention the raw emotion throughout the day…so many happy tears, many of which were mine because they had me crying all day! 😉

So thank you, Bridget and Jake, for allowing me to photograph this day for you! It brought me so much joy and checked an item off my bucket list!

Last weekend we had the privilege of photographing the sweetest, most beautiful wedding. It was full of beautiful details from florals to American flags, one GORGEOUS dress, and a story behind the day that is a great one and a little heart wrenching at the same time!
Lauren and Cole have been dating since Lauren’s freshman year in high school. Cole entered into the Marine Corps almost two years ago and was stationed in North Carolina.  Since then, the two have worked through the long distance relationship and were so excited to finally get engaged! The plan was for Lauren to join Cole in North Carolina just two days after the wedding.
The week before the wedding was quite eventful! Cole came home for the first time since getting engaged, Lauren graduated from high school, her younger sister graduated from 8th grade, and their family home flooded in the torrential downpours we had! Talk about a stressful wedding week! And to top it off, they were calling for rain and storms all day the day of the wedding.
The wedding day came around with storms all around, but miraculously, no storms hit at Kickapoo Creek Winery, the venue for their entire day. The day was full of emotion. I can’t imagine Lauren’s parents emotions that day…so happy to see their little girl getting married, yet having to mentally prepare themselves for her to move away two days later! But everything ended up perfect that day. I’m pretty sure they had one of the most upbeat, fun receptions we’ve ever attended. The dance floor was full the ENTIRE time! And they had so many special touches, one of my favorites being when Lauren took the mic and sang a solo to Cole!! Tear jerker! I couldn’t be more excited to share these images with you!
Congratulations Lauren and Cole!!

Elise and Kyle were married two years ago, so to mark the occasion, we decided to head back to where is it all started! These two lovebirds got married at Kickapoo Creek Winery on a beautiful May day, more beautiful than the day we took these photos because, you would never tell here, but it was like 95 degrees and humid! Ugh! But they were troopers and you can tell that their love for each other has just grown over the last two years! Can’t wait to see what’s in store for them in the future! Love you guys!

A morning in the park is always fun, but when you’re there to photograph a family like this, it’s a blast! I had so much fun with the Alwan’s! The kids are so full of energy and we had fun playing a few games and just being silly! Tasha and Simon said they haven’t done family photos in a VERY long time, so I was so honored to be able to capture this time in their lives for them!

Sweet, sweet Claire. That is the best word to describe this little cutie! She was such a laid back baby and so was mom and dad! I’m pretty sure this was the easiest newborn session to date! I love that they just wanted everything to be very natural, no crazy props or anything, just them in their home, lovin on that sweet baby girl! This is definitely my favorite type of newborn session!
