I met Cassie over 10 years ago while working at Ruby Tuesday’s together. We quickly became friends. A couple years later my cousin, Sam, started working there as well, where he also met Cassie – resulting in a beautiful relationship and – to my great delight – marriage! They now have 4-year-old Matthew, the sweetest and smartest little boy, and are expecting a baby girl in November. Cassie was also just diagnosed with Stage 2 Breast Cancer.

 Rather than enjoying the 2nd trimester of her pregnancy, Cassie is now faced with months of chemo, sickness and a surgery. But that is not stopping her, or her baby girl. Cassie is a pillar of strength. She finds the light in the scary moments and trudges on.

 I am honored to be able to share their story and document this time for them. This is just the first of a series of posts about Cassie, Sam, Matthew and the baby. Through the hard times, there will also be so many good times, because there is no greater gift than life.

 Please help me in keeping Cassie in your thoughts and prayers. Send strength to Sam and Matthew as they ride this roller coaster with her.
